In this purely auditory mental exercise, you will listen to a series of spoken numbers and perform mental arithmetic. Each number will be spoken aloud, and your task is to add it to the previous number you heard.
Example Sequence:
If you hear "2" followed by "7", you should enter "9" (2+7).
If the next number is "3", you should add it to "7" (the previous number) and enter "10" (7+3).
Important: Numbers will ONLY be presented audibly - you won't see them on screen. This increases the difficulty and effectiveness of the training.
The training is adaptive - if you answer correctly several times in a row, the numbers will be presented faster. If you make consecutive errors, they will slow down. This challenges your cognitive control abilities.
Research suggests that regular practice with this task may help improve cognitive control and potentially reduce symptoms of depression.
Standard Mode: The training will last for 20 minutes with an initial interval of 3 seconds between numbers. The speed will adjust automatically based on your performance.
